   The Georgette Heyer Mailing List will be reading The Quiet Gentleman together beginning approximately February 2nd and ending approximately February 23rd, 1999.

    So that you may better savour your reading of the book, I've put together a series of web pages to explain many of the references in the book, and tried to organize the factual information by subject matter.  My sincere thanks to Anne Woodley (all things military), Alden O'Brien (the fashion goddess) and Daniel Cottam (who seems to know about nearly everyting) for helping me gather all this information.  I couldn't have done half of it without their help!
